Imagine entering a new school on your first day.

You do not know:

• Where classrooms are.
• Where teachers sit.
• Where students belong.

So you start learning.

After some time:

"Class 1A is there."

"Teacher John is in Room 5."

The next time someone asks:

"Where is Class 1A?"

You already know.

A network switch works in a similar way.

A switch learns where devices are connected.

It builds a map.

That map is called:
